While I'm Thinking About It

The Post I promised Yesterday

So, the big webcomicky news stories this past week included (in addition to the glorious return of Melonpool):

• The merger of community sites ComicSpace (where I have a presence), and Webcomics Nation (where I don't), and various sundry related sites.
• Brad Guigar, Kris Straub, and Dave Kellett left Blank Label Comics to join Halfpixel.
• Zuda Comics, an attempt by the Vast Time-Warner Empire to get a piece of that lucrative webcomic market through their itty-bitty subsidiary DC Comics.

What these stories all have in common is the lack of Webcomics Drama(TM) surrounding them. On one level, this is a good thing, as Teh Drama generally does nobody any good, although it can sometimes be fun to watch from a comfortable distance. Depending on who all's involved, it can be a lot of fun. But I digress. This newfound maturity, it's a good thing.
