That's the way it goes, sometimes.
So, December 1st is upon us, and you may be wondering just how well I did at that whole NaNoWriMo thing.
It was a rather spectacular crash and burn. After the write-in on November 2nd, to be exact. The coffee shop was too small for the crowd who showed up, and, in fact, struck me as being just too small in general. People with laptops were crowded around every available table, leaving me stuck next at a booth with some guy who had no idea what was going on. Which a lot of the place's regulars didn't seem to know, either, and as a result there was quite a bit of complaining. And this was where the weekly write-in was going to be held! So, I wound up writing just enough to finish my hot cocoa, then getting out of there. I certainly wasn't going back there anytime soon, but reaching that decision killed both my momentum and my motivation. Besides, like I mentioned next door in the shoutbox, I've got this silly little webcomic for scratching my storytelling itch. Plus, I've written a novel already, I know I can do it and don't need an artifical challenge to prove I can do it again.
But, even though I stopped writing very early on, I didn't stop thinking about it, and have a couple pages worth of notes that I can use to finish up at my own leisure.
The name of the story? Invaders From Dimension Zero. The greatest B-movie never filmed.
