While I'm Thinking About It

I was trying to get at the notion that there are two types of regulars. But you probably already figured that out.

The GIMP now has multifill and flatten plugins available. If you don't know what any of that means, let me just say that coloring comics in Linux just got a lot more streamlined. I plan to write the process up for a Webcomics.com tutorial, as a companion to all the Photoshop tips and tricks they receive. In an ideal world, these plugins would result in full color five strips a week. But it is not an ideal world, and I don't know how much time I'll have available for such things what with my new job that officially kinda starts off with training Monday.

I'm working for the US Census. But wait! Isn't the Census scheduled for 2010? Well, yes, but there's a lot of prep work that needs to be done beforehand. Like making sure records are accurate and up-to-date. It's like taking inventory, except instead of the salesfloor and storeroom it's houses and apartment complexes, and instead of UPCs it's street addresses.

There's a lot I'm not allowed to talk about, so I won't.

I'm also not allowed to talk politics while on duty (which makes sense--the Census counts everybody regardless of affiliation and we need to make sure that's the image we're presenting), so I'm going to take the chance and declare this blog-like thing a politics-free zone as well. Starting .

. . .

. . .

now.
