The second thing was Thursday, March 12th, when TRU-Life Adventures turned nineteen years old. That is, admittedly, kind of a big deal. Not a lot of webcomics have made it that long (though there are more than one might think).
The first thing, however, is an even bigger deal. The Daily Grind Iron Man Challenge, which began on February 28th, 2005 with 56 cartoonists challenging each other to see who could maintain a Monday-Friday update schedule the longest, came to an end fifteen years, one week, and a day later.
I won.
I am Iron Man.
No, I'm not entirely sure how that happened either.
Anyway, the end of the contest suddenly opens up options for me. I no longer have to update every day come rain or shine or bad gall bladders. If I want to drop a day from the update schedule--say, to free up time to resurrect my blog or something--then I can.
For now, though, it's still business as usual. I kind of want to see how long I can continue updating like this now that there's nothing at stake.
